Apply by Friday 4 January 2019 for our development programme to learn more about the craft and business of poetry.

The Writers’ Place Poets was launched in 2017 by acclaimed poet Dean Atta during his time as Guest Artistic Director. We’re delighted that Dean will return in 2019 to lead the group again.

This development programme is aimed at poets living or working in southeast England. Based in Brighton, over the course of six monthly sessions, you will be guided to take the next steps in your poetry career. Between sessions, you will have regular homework and benefit from virtual mentoring. You will also be encouraged to share skills and offer mutual support within the group.

The Writers’ Place Poets sessions for 2019 will take place at The Writers’ Place, 9-10 Jew Street, Brighton BN1 1UT on the following dates:

Thu 7 February 2019
Thu 7th March 2019
Thu 4th April 2019
Thu 2nd May 2019
Thu 6th June 2019
Thu 4th July 2019.

Spaces are limited to 15 participants living or working in southeast England. Participants will be expected to commit to all six sessions, and regular homework in their own time.
