About Jenny Rowe
I am an actor, comedy improviser and writer. I completed the 2 year CCE Creative Writing course, initially through Sussex Uni and later NWS.
I've also trained in sketch writing and TV and Film screenplays with Secondcity (USA) and Mark Brailsford of The Treason Show.
My short stories tend towards 'speculative fiction'. I came second in the Henshaw Press Writing Competition (Jan 2017) and 'His Master's Voice' will be published in an anthology later this year. I'm also a contributing writer for a non-fiction book coming out later this year.
As an actor and a teacher of acting for adults, I have devised and written a show inspired by fairytales and I'm in the early stages of writing a one woman show about a science fiction writer.
I run workshops using improvisation to inspire creative writing through my company, The Maydays (www.themaydays.co.uk).
As an improviser, I make shows and characters and stories up all the time, but we rarely write them down.
