New directions for New Writing South
Lesley Wood is the new Acting Chief Executive.
New Writing South is currently exploring new directions for the organisation, reflecting the changing landscape for writers and writing in the South East and beyond. John Prebble has been leading this process, opening up an array of new ideas and possibilities for the organisation over recent months. However, John has now decided to concentrate on his freelance and creative work.
We are pleased to announce that Lesley Wood will be stepping into the role of Acting Chief Executive to steer New Writing South into its future. Lesley has worked at New Writing South since July 2015 as Creative Learning Manager and brings a vast array of experience from across the arts sector.
Mary Allen, Chair, says:
“This is a time of exciting changes for New Writing South and for everyone involved in writing today. We are grateful to John for the inspiration and reflection he has brought to the organisation and I am looking forward to working with Lesley to take forward our plans.”
John Prebble says:
“I have greatly enjoyed my time at New Writing South and have been inspired by the team, our partners and all the writers I have worked with. Whilst I have now decided to concentrate on my freelance and creative work, I look forward very much to New Writing South’s future and to staying in touch with its work with writers and writing in the South East.”
Lesley Wood will assume the role of Acting Chief Executive from 12 September and can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org.
