Tinderbox


The company is committed to programming plays by new or emerging writers, including those on attachment to Tinderbox, when these reach an appropriate standard for professional production and touring. Recently Tinderbox has engaged with venues where new writing is staged, to develop a strategy aimed at building new and wider audiences, and with other independent theatre companies, with a view to increasing the potential for new writing develop throughout the theatre community..

The talents and skills of new playwrights are developed through a range of specially designed initiatives, soon to be led by Northern Ireland’s only full-time Literary Manager. Tinderbox commissions plays from both emerging and established writers, and supports the development of scripts from initial ideas to full production.
