Based in Manchester, Carcanet is the country’s largest independent publisher of poetry. In addition to some 40 new titles a year, it also maintains an extensive and impressive backlist. Carcanet produces the bi-monthly poetry magazine PN Review.

Circle Of Literary Friends - Merseyside

Circle of Literary Friends is a long-established collective of creative Urdu writers focused on developing talent and promoting Urdu creative writing. It runs workshops, poetry performances, cultural festivals, publications, exhibitions, active research, as well as arts and multimedia facilities. It especially supports women and younger writers.

North West Playwrights

North West Playwrights is the regional organisation that, in partnership with the region's theatre sector, supports new writing for the stage. Its work includes reading scripts, development workshops, masterclasses, a regular newsletter and promotional opportunities for new and practising writers.

The Windows Project

The Windows Project works with writers, placing them in schools and community settings to support new writing by young people. The company also undertakes a wide range of related activities, including mentoring new writers. Our funding is to support the delivery of a programme of creative writing workshops on Merseyside and in adjoining local authority districts, to produce two publications annually and deliver a range of other writing workshops and schemes.
