Third Space aims to make theatre an everyday part of life in the villages and towns of South East England. The company believe that by encouraging local people to see and make art they will ensure that their rural communities are safe, healthy and valued places to live.

Uniquely, Third Space is producing and curating new programmes of work that spring from the region. The company believe in the value of making work specifically for their communities - work that is particular and universal. Third Space need to be open to new creative and operational partnerships, constantly learn and adapt, take work to communities and develop the perception of art as both an ordinary and special part of life in the region.

The company will do this by:

• creating theatre and workshop events for village halls and community centres that promote the idea that our best times can be ahead of us.
• supporting other companies and artists in the creation of their own work.
• ensuring that the Farnham Maltings encourages the making of new arts work.
• supporting local people in developing their own creativity.
• building partnerships with other organisations concerned with the health and shape of our region.
• working with others on the development of new writing for touring theatre.
• developing international relationships with artists and communities that share our concerns.

Third Space aspire to be well managed, expansive and optimistic to take risks and afford space for all those who work for and with us to be creative.
