Statement of Purpose

To produce theatre, to promote its values and practitioners and & to encourage participation in theatre and the arts.

Theatre is an essential activity within any progressive society as it enables communication, expression, recreation, personal and social education, exploration, debate and reflection on contemporary life.

To promote the rights of young people and their personal and social education

Young people are a vital part of our society both as individuals and as agents for change for the future.

Aims

• To produce professional theatre for young people, prioritising presentation within the educational framework within the region
• To operate a Youth Theatre in Swindon which promotes participation in, access to and ownership of theatre
• To act as a professional theatre resource through offering advice, support and consultation to the people of Swindon
• To work in alliance with organisations sharing Sixth Sense’s values and interests
• To encourage the development of both the organisation and its staff through progressive management and employment practices and to advocate these practices through networking, benchmarking and information sharing
• To participate in relevant debates about young people’s issues and theatreSixth Sense adopts the following values throughout its work:
