Mission Statement

Platform 4 aims to create magical physical theatre that is highly visual and will captivate and entertain audiences. Our programme of work seeks to enrich its audience, particularly young people, through beautiful, quality performances and unique cross-arts participatory projects.

The Company

Platform 4 was founded in 1997 and has a style of work that is quirky, heavily based on the visual arts, physical play and devising. Characteristics of the work include an immediacy of direct address, quirky movement and multi-layered soundtracks that use scenography for visual effect. They aim to create tantalising atmospheres that surround and envelop an audience with sound, light and scene.

For the last seven years Platform 4 have been making performance work that tours nationally and creating participatory cross-art projects and street theatre events that feed off and influence each other. The company have devised a wide range of projects with schools and colleges, youth theatres and community groups.

Platform 4 has its home in Winchester.
