New Writing SouthTheatre Producers
OXFORD PLAYHOUSE
The Oxford Playhouse is one of the country's best-loved theatres, and has a proud tradition of presenting the very best of British and international drama, dance, music, opera, comedy and children's theatre. The Playhouse has also been producing it's own work for over ten years, presenting shows in Oxford and on tour across the UK and abroad. They are committed to making theatre for everyone, and aim to produce work of the highest quality. The company want to share with their audiences the very best in writing, acting, directing and staging. The Playhouse has received funding from Arts Council England to extend its operations to include producing and touring, and they're delighted to be to able to share our work with more people across the UK.
The company aim to produce two to three shows a year, including their Christmas show. They will produce work including classic repertoire, international work, new writing, adaptations and modern work. The scope for commissioning writers, or considering unsolicited scripts, is therefore limited, but they will endeavour to read work that is submitted.
