Theatre Exchange
Theatre Exchange aims to provide good theatre and dance experiences which nurture the artistic and personal development of young people, those who work with young people and the artists involved. Previously part of the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead, Theatre Exchange has been producing work for young people since 1989. Theatre Exchange became an independent limited company with charitable status in 1997 and for the past 3 years have worked in collaboration with Tandridge Leisure Limited Arts Office.
Theatre Exchange are dedicated to producing quality theatre, drama and dance experiences for young people. Too often this work is produced with poor production values and artistic content giving the impression "it’s only for kids, so it’ll do!". The company want to change this attitude and seek to expand their reputation of being a key provider of theatre projects for young people in the South East.
The company are currently working alongside Tandridge Leisure to develop a new performing arts space in Caterham, Surrey called The Arc. Theatre Exchange are set to move into The Arc from November 2005, which will offer us a new stage for Youth Arts projects and provide us with a dedicated creation space.
