Blunderbus Theatre Company
Blunderbus was established in July 1998 to produce new and intelligent plays for children. They are a touring theatre company, performing to over 100,000 children each year, up and down the country. The company produce three new plays every year, each designed for a specific target audience; either children at Foundation or KS1 level, KS2 level or for family audiences.
Blunderbus has a very distinct style; incorporating puppetry skills into every production, using high-energy storytelling, live music and new songs. They adapt existing tales from across the world, using a variety of performance techniques to bring each story to life.
Blunderbus plays are epic, intelligent and interactive. They are age-specific; spending a great deal of time and effort in ensuring that the subject-matter covered is highly suitable for their target audience. The company strive to make their work accessible to new audiences. Productions are designed to be adaptable in style, length and design, but are also able to be presented in non-theatre venues as well as theatre spaces. Along with theatres and arts centres, they have performed in schools, nurseries, village halls, community centres, libraries and children's hospital wards.
