TV Writing Masterclass
with Jenny Lecoat
This two-hour session provides an overview on writing for the small screen. Examining the nature of the sitcom and the drama series, it will look at the building blocks required to create a series, a practical approach to episode writing, plus tips on presenting your work and surviving within
the modern television industry.
Jenny Lecoat, ex-comedienne, has been writing for television for sixteen years. Her CV covers both drama and comedy - seven years on the EastEnders team, episodes of Holby City, Dangerfield, Doctors, Tracy Beaker, Family Affairs, Birds of a Feather, Double Trouble for Dutch TV, her own sitcom series Sometime Never, and several drama documentaries. In 2008 she co-created a new soap opera for Russian television and is currently developing a WW2 drama for Poland.
Jenny has run a number of workshops for NWS and has also taught at the Arvon Foundation, London Film Academy and Central Film School.
