This highly sought after six-session programme for experienced writers only - led by a BBC Radio Drama Producer - is designed to explore every aspect of successful radio drama writing.
Held in a leading radio drama production studio, writers will evaluate current BBC Radio 3 & 4 dramas and measure them against their own work and ideas. The course explores the possibilities and limitations of the medium, with practical exercises to develop develop their craft.
Advanced Radio Writing culminates in an exciting day in radio drama production with professional actors reading and recording extracts of participants finished radio scripts.
Jessica will also talk about the briefs for each of the current Radio 4 drama slots, and how best a writer can attempt to sell his or her work.
Jessica Dromgoole is a producer for BBC Radio Drama, and previously she worked as a theatre director, specialising in new writing, and as literary manager of Paines Plough, Jessica joined the BBC, introducing talented writers to the networks, and the BBC to writers. Jessica became a radio producer, joining the team of WESTWAY, the World Service's twice-weekly soap. She now produces radio plays for Radio 3, Radio 4 and Radio Five Live.
