Callout: New Writing South Trustee

Would you like to become a Trustee of the South East’s leading creative writing charity, helping to guide and support New Writing South’s dynamic work?

We are currently seeking three new Trustees who have relevant expertise in business, finance or diversity and inclusion.

New Writing South is at an exciting time in its development as we launch a new programme of work by, for and with diverse writers. In 2017 this will involve an ambitious programme, bringing writing, publishing and new digital platforms together.

We run courses, showcases and professional development programmes from our base in Brighton and across the region. We host the Creative Writing Programme in Brighton and Hastings, support the Portsmouth and West Kent writers hubs, and work with partners such as Turner Contemporary in Margate and the Story Museum in Oxford to deliver innovative activities for engaged young writers.

At the heart of New Writing South’s work is a commitment to diversity and talent development. Our values of openness and inclusivity for writers of all ages are central to our ethos, from novelists and journalists to playwrights, poets and spoken word artists.

We would now welcome experienced business or finance professionals and writers with a passion for inclusive arts practice to help realise our vision. We would like to see applications from people from all backgrounds who are passionate about writing and the arts.

If you are keen to learn more about becoming a Trustee of New Writing South, please email to request an application pack.

Completed applications should be received no later than 13 June. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to join us for a glass of wine at The Writers Place on 15th June to meet the Board and staff and learn more about the organisation.

Informal interviews will take place in the week beginning 3rd July.
